It seems like Cristiano Ronaldo has a different view when it comes to having babies. He doesn’t believe in following the traditional way of having children, which involves a couple getting married and having a baby together. With Ronaldo’s way of working, he finds a surrogate Mom, which he has now done twice; Ronaldo Jnr and recently the newly born twins Eva and Mateo. All of this going on in his life and now his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez (22) is supposedly pregnant with CR7’s baby as well.
Not too sure how I feel about all of this. Is CR7 doing the right thing by having surrogate children, thus never having to deal with a Mom if he was married and had to get divorced? This way his kids are his and only his; no one can take them away from him via a divorce. On the negative side, surely the surrogate children will one day ask who their Mom is and how is CR7 going to reply? Curious to see how all of this works out for CR7 and the kids. I guess money does buy children.
Recently, football superstars playing in Spain have been in a whole bunch of tax trouble which authorities are calling various forms of tax fraud. One would think the likes of Ronaldo, Messi, and Neymar would have the money to pay the best financial advisors in the world to avoid issues like this.
This all started via David Beckham who (when playing for Real Madrid) signed a deal enabling him to enjoy a tax-exemption scheme aimed at attracting foreign talent to Spain across all sectors. That scheme became known as the Beckham Law, when he became one of the first players to sign up to a six-year-long tax ceiling of 24%; roughly half what Spaniards paid on six-figure-plus incomes. Well the Beckham Law is now gone and the trouble starts for all these stars.
My question is will Spain still be an attractive country for superstar talent? Don’t think so if taxes are high and authorities are down their necks for extra money….long story short, you make the big bucks, expect to be taxed and made to pay-up or Guido will be on you like a dog on a bone. Guess I’ve been watching too much Sopranos…
Never seen this before…
A Syrian goalkeeper pulls off a crazy clearance; not by kicking the ball, but by punching it all the way to the halfway line.
Is this a new trend for goalkeepers? I tried punching the ball like he did and the ball didn’t go very far, guess that’s why I am a goalkeeper with a retired status. Try it and let me know if it works for you.
Recently, Nigeria played against South Africa in a Cup of Nations qualifier in Nigeria. South Africa won the fixture 2-0 using their training balls, as the official match balls Nigeria were supposed to use were nowhere to be found.
Guess the training balls brought South Africa luck, as they have never beaten Nigeria in a competitive match. All I can say is…only in Africa. Being an ex-professional South African soccer player, I have seen this and other similar events happen and all I can do is laugh.
Jose Mourinho was known as the “special one”. Recently his players & staff at Man United have given him a new nickname.
Hint…it’s a flower and the name came from the 1990 Oscar award winning film. What could it be??
If you live in the UAE or decide to do the touristy thing in the UAE, please don’t wear the old Barcelona shirt with “Qatar Airways” on the front of the shirt. If you want to defy the odds and do the crazy deed then don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Who is the world’s most valuable player? Is it Ronaldo? Is it Messi?
If you said yes to either one of these player’s, well you are wrong. Try again.
Who could it be? I was surprised at the answer. Check out the top 50 list.
