Every youngster, myself included, always wished to one day play professional club football, and even better, play for their country. As the old sayings go: “always dream big”; “dreams do come true”; “never stop believing”; “work hard and the rewards will come”. Well, in Gabriel Jesus’s case, all of that become reality and more.
In 2004, then 17 years old, Gabriel was a youth player who played for his local side, Palmeiras, earning a measly £3,500 a year. Soon after, Gabriel’s talents would be recognized and he would be thrust into the Palmeiras senior squad, only for Manchester City’s South American scouting network to take notice and alert a certain Pep Guardiola.
The rest is history. Gabriel is now earning a whopping £75,000 a week, which he cannot spend. His mother recently revealed she controls his wage and hands him pocket money each month. I wonder how much she gives Jesus and how much she pockets for herself, but that’s a whole other story.
He is now a full-fledged Brazil international, and if he stays fit, will go to the 2018 World Cup next summer.
Next time you are down and out, remember Gabriel Jesus. Dreams do come true and your dreams will come true too. Never give up!
Cristiano Ronaldo Jnr. shows he clearly inherited his father’s ball skills with a virtuoso display of dribbling at the Bernabeu.
During the Real Madrid day of Champions League celebrations, Ronaldo Jnr. seized his time in the limelight as a fan captured the six-year-old on the pitch in a video posted on Twitter.
All I can say is very impressive! Jnr. spectacularly fan-dangled past two other youngsters and then it was Golasssssssso with Dad like celebrations afterwards.

Many years ago, footballers would earn a ton of money and blow it all on women and booze. These days that is not the case. Players have highly-experienced, well-paid money managers who invest their money wisely on yes…you guessed it…hotels.
For the latest hotel purchases and more info on which players own what hotels, read the article and then hurry up and wait in line to “Reserve a Room”. Good luck!!!
Footballers have fame, money, and of course gorgeous wives and girlfriends. Many of these wonderful ladies were unknown before they hooked up with a footballer, while some were already famous in their own right.
Clearly I’m not the love connection nerd and should rather keep my talents on the football field. I answered a whopping 6 out of the 20 correctly. Good luck beating that!
As a Spurs supporter, I don’t agree with this – LIVERPOOL fans seem to believe they have owned some of the best players in Premier League history, including famous goal scorers like Luis Suarez and Robbie Fowler. Which other Liverpool stars have finished club top scorer?
Check out the list of every Liverpool top scorer of the Premier League era.
Being a Champion these days means nothing. You are a hero today and gone tomorrow. It’s about winning at all costs.
I get all emotional and say “but Ranieri pulled off the most amazing title-winning miracle; surely he should have been given more of a lifeline?” Clearly football owners have no emotion – Ranieri you are fired, move on!!!
Move onto what?? Various available vacancies and none of them employed Ranieri. Why?
Pep Guardiola is an amazing coach. He never makes mistakes. Or does he?
Well, his first year at Man City wasn’t too flattering. He didn’t win a trophy and had some transfer blunders: hint ‘Claudio Bravo’.
Word on the street says he doesn’t have much room for too many more transfer blunders and if so, well “YOU ARE FIRED”!
