The “Great” Leo Messi turned 30 a little while ago and it feels like I have been watching him wiggle his magic past defenders and scoring incredible goals for such a long time. I often tell people that we as football fans are so lucky to be able to watch the brilliance of the Argentine wizard on a weekly basis.
In saying the above, it bothers me that there are haters out there who have bad things to say about him, trash him and whatever else. Really? Are you being serious? Have you even kicked a ball in your life? If you did you wouldn’t be a hater; you would shut up and realize that some of the moves he does on the football pitch is nothing less than remarkable.
When the number 10 has the ball at his feet and is running at defenders humiliating them, just ask “Jarome Boateng”. All I can say is, “wow, please keep this guy playing forever. “
Where would football be the last 13-years without Messi? Would Barcelona even be half the team they are today without Messi? One doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the answer.
Haters, do yourselves a favour and read this article for some of the best stats of Messi’s remarkable career. Also look at how it has progressed year by year. Read it and weep.
For the record, I am Portuguese and the one and only Cristiano Ronaldo is my FAVOURITE current player. As a football fanatic, it’s been fantastic to have Messi in the mix as well. It can only help football remain the most played and popular game in the world.
Messi please never retire!!! And never forget that CR7 is still better than you LOL…
This player recently launched his own shoe in collaboration with Nike and Jordan. He is a 25-year old superstar with a love for fashion and limited-edition sneakers.
He recently spent $18,623 on one shopping spree buying sneakers.
Who is this player?? Not going to lie, wish it was me…
For those of us who are old enough to remember Patrick Kluivert, we know he had a prolific career playing for the likes of Ajax, AC Milan, and Barcelona. For those that don’t know who he is, I suggest you search him up on YouTube and you will soon know.
Patrick has two sons who both seem to be following in their Dad’s footsteps. His youngest son, 9-year old Shane who is on the books of PSG, recently signed an endorsement deal with Nike making him the youngest European sportsperson to sign a contract with Nike. He is a social media sensation with over 122,000 Instagram followers.
Patrick’s other son Justin, who is 18-years old, is also making waves and recently made his first senior team appearance with Ajax.

Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar hit the headlines for the wrong reasons. He was guilty of sparking an incredible mass brawl between the two sets of players which overshadowed him as the solid player that he is known for.
The Brazilian lost his composure during the game; firing the ball not once, but twice into an opponent as the half was about to draw to a close.
Let’s just say the WWE-like brawl had all 22 players on the pitch having a go at each other, as well as the two benches. It was quite entertaining!
Not quite worth a pay-per-view, but had definite entertainment value.
I wonder how long all these top players will last playing in China? Yes, they are making tons of money but judging from various articles, they would jump ship to better playing leagues in a heartbeat…
In this case, money really does not buy happiness!!
Whatever happened to let’s just play football?? In the modern game, statistics are becoming more and more important and professional clubs around the world are increasingly employing analysts and paying them huge sums of money to interpret the seemingly infinite data available on footballers’ performances.
On the contrary, all these stats can also be viewed as a negative. Football is now all computer-based and coaches / players are losing the human touch where coaches / players go with gut feel in making decisions in football.
This article will give you a perspective on how much stats is affecting modern day football to the point where most professional teams rely on these stats for everyday decisions.
Not quite sure I agree with this though. Soon there will be robots as players programmed to follow set rules, playing patterns, and FIFA corruption will no longer exist. OK, before I get too far ahead of myself here, just read the article…
I remember in my playing days when there were no computers and news was delivered via newspapers, magazines, or by watching the sporting day’s news on TV. This seems so long ago…boy I am getting old!
It’s crazy how times have changed. Players these days compete for the most followers via the various social media platforms and are on their way to global super-stardom.
Not going to lie, I find myself following some of these stars, and trying to be a modern-day internet groupie, LOL.

The post above was about the positives of social media, but sometimes social media can be a bad thing. In this case, the player posted pictures of him on a skiing holiday with his wife on Instagram. Well, thieves got wind of this and burgled his $5 million mansion, taking £400,000 worth of designer goods.
I can only think that it would take balls of steel to burgle a $5 million mansion. Surely this so-called mansion would have state-of-the-art security. Well, it did and the five ‘sum bitch’ thieves got caught!
