How Much Per Instagram Post?

We all know Instagram as an online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing, and social networking app, and most tech-savvy people probably have an account.

This photo-sharing app is big, big business for celebrities, as they use this platform to endorse and promote products they own and happen to be sponsored by.

One football celebrity, who comes up tops, is Cristiano Ronaldo with 116 million followers…and he uses his account mainly for commercial reasons, instead of only personal.

Why use it for commercial instead of personal you might ask? CR7 earns a ridiculous amount of money per sponsored post, and he doesn’t have to do much to earn that money.

On the “Instagram Rich List”, CR7 is the top-earning male in the world.

Lebron James (NBA basketball God) makes the list at number 10 with a whopping £92,457 per post.

Must be nice !!

Ten Most “Liked” Instagram Football Posts

While on the Instagram subject, and 2017 just about to come to an end, it’s only appropriate for me to look back on some of the biggest football moments of the year…well, the ones that took Instagram by storm.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi attracted a shit load of new followers this year…a staggering 30 million and 21 million respectively!

Unsurprisingly, the Real Madrid and Barcelona legends were the only two contenders on the list of the top-10 most liked Instagram football videos.

I now take you through the coveted list revealing the clips that garnered the most attention from the world this year.

Enjoy !!

“Tinder” is Now Used for Signing Players

A few newsletters ago, I wrote an article on how clubs are using apps and the internet to find new players.

This week, Yeovil Town have broken new ground. The League Two outfit took to the popular dating app, Tinder, to reveal the signing of Oscar Gobern (never heard of this guy) on a free transfer.

For those not on Tinder, “Swipe right” can be used anytime one makes a good choice or approves of something. “Swipe left” indicates they didn’t like the choice and they are not a match.

Lionel Messi “swipe left”, Neymar “swipe left”, Ronaldo “swipe left”, Oscar Gobern “swipe right”…

Shortly after, Gobern returned the compliment and club and player were matched. They then signed Gobern…as easy as that!

Yeovil Town sure has unorthodox methods to reveal their new signings. In the summer, they revealed Southampton youngster Olufela Olomola on loan through FIFA 17’s career mode. They also had Countdown’s Rachel Riley announce James Bailey’s contract extension.

I must admit, great publicity campaigns! A smart way to get people talking about the club.

“WTF” Renato Sanches

So much was promised of Renato Sanches after the Portugal midfielder won the 2016 Golden Boy award. The then-teenager helped guide Portugal to a famous Euro 2016 title (what an incredible day this was for my family and I) and secured a big money move from Benfica to Bayern Munich.

But Sanches struggled during his first season in the Bundesliga, making just 25 appearances in all competitions…the majority coming from the bench.

He has since been loaned out to a destination that surprised pretty much everyone…Swansea City. By loaning the 20-year-old to a lesser team in a higher tier, Bayern was hoping Sanches would rediscover his best form. This has not happened, and the midfield maestro has continued to struggle.

Something hilarious happened to Sanches during the Swansea vs. Bournemouth game. Thinking he had spotted a team-mate out of the corner of his eye, Sanches passed the ball directly to his target.

The only problem was, the target in question turned out to be a red Carabao logo…the same colour as Swansea’s shirts…located on the sponsorship advertising board along the pitch side.

Basically, he passed the ball to absolutely nobody…it’s hilarious !!

Footage of the moment has circulated on Twitter and has received plenty of attention!

£2 Wins £31,000 Bet

Some random guy walks into a bookie shop and plays £2 on a 12-fold accumulator, and with just about all games coming to an end and him thinking his lost his £2 bet, things go from bad to just fuckin’ great!

Three last-minute winners later, holy shit…he is now the proud winner of £31,000 !!

Follow the crazy story of events here.

Why can’t that happen to me???

Not Your Normal Football Design

Who is Pierre Navarro?

He is a custom artist who creates football boots for some of the biggest names in the world of football, making one-off designs for Romelu Lukaku, Didier Drogba, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Ronaldinho.

Pretty talented guy, his designs are pretty kick-ass !!

Like Father, Like Son

I had a previous article on CR7 Junior’s skills…here is another example of how the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Ronaldo Senior shared a video clip on Instagram (this seems to be the app of the newsletter today) of his seven-year-old son scoring a brilliantly-struck free-kick from distance in a youth game in Spain.

The Real Madrid player praised his son and hinted that the set-piece skill has come from plenty of practice at home, with the caption saying, “Nothing is coincidence”.

Picture this…young CR7 standing over the free-kick with his body straight and his legs shoulder-width apart…hmmmm…who else does this ??

There is a three-man wall with two players positioned on each post on the goal line, with the ball placed a fair distance from the goal.

Junior takes a run-up, pings the ball with a swerve, and dip where the ball perfectly arches over the wall and lands in the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance at a save.

What is surprising to me was the lack of celebration from young Ronaldo! He simply walks back to his team’s half.

“Check me out Dad…I do this all the time.” Lol…impressive!
