Messi, What a Goal !!

Lionel Messi offered yet another reminder of his irrepressible genius on Sunday night, bending in a sensational free-kick from long-range.

What a goal it was !! Scores of fans took to Twitter to marvel at the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s effort.

It was Messi’s 366th La Liga goal. The number is significant, as it takes the 30-year-old past Gerd Muller’s record for the most goals in a single top-five European league.

We as football fans are so lucky to be able to watch Messi do what he does on the football pitch.

Pure magic…it’s incredible!

What the Fuck !!

If you are a football fan, then you probably watched the Liverpool vs Man City game on the weekend.

What a cracker game it was! Liverpool giving Man City a beating…

All Liverpool fans were excited, including Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool Manager, who couldn’t contain himself during the post-match interview.

Quite funny, a must watch!

Being a Goalkeeper Ain’t Easy

Being a former goalkeeper, I can attest that some of the training methods used by a few of my goalkeeping coach’s were certainly very different.

I remember one training session where I had to crawl army style for over an hour over rocky terrain…no idea why or where it would be of benefit to me during a game! In all my years of watching football, I have never seen a keeper leopard-crawl in a game…have you? To this day, I still cannot understand why I was subjected to that crap. It was so bizarre and quite stupid !!

I thought I had seen it all until I was sent this article by a fellow pro friend of mine.

I am so glad I didn’t have this guy as a keeper coach! It’s more like Cirque du Soleil…where do they find these clowns ??

Red Card for the Referee

PSG’s 1-0 win over Nantes on Sunday was overshadowed by an incident involving Ligue 1 referee Tony Chapron, who appeared to kick Nantes player, Diego Carlos, off the ball, before showing the defender a red card.

In the last minute of the game, PSG was advancing up the pitch on a counter attack when Carlos seemed to accidentally cross paths with Chapron. The referee stumbled and fell to the turf, before appearing to swing a kick with his right boot at the Nantes player.

My first thoughts were…did that really happen ??

After the kicking incident, referee Chapron gave Carlos a second yellow card, before blowing for full-time three minutes later.

What the heck was he thinking ??

The ref has apparently been shown a red card by the French FA and is suspended until further notice.

The Watch Belongs To ??

Football managers in the Premier League are always looking at their watches, gesturing to referees to add injury time on or calling out time wasting.

They need to know the time to the nearest second…this is why they invest in these expensive timepieces, or for the lucky ones, have sponsorship deals with a watch company.

Interesting to know which manager wears what watch!

As a lover of watches, I sure enjoyed this article. The Rolex Daytona, which costs around £10k, is my favourite, I can only dream…

Fellaini is a Player…

Where would Marouane Fellaini be rated on the good-looking studly scale ??

I asked a few non-football people to have a look at a photo of his mug and give me their rating. Well, let’s just say that he is a good football player with the most outrageous hair! I think that statement says it all…

How does this guy land up with a belter like this ?? She must have fallen for his hair…ya, it has to be the hair…

David Banda Who ??

He’s a 12-year-old currently signed with the Benfica academy in Portugal and has a famous Mum, who can usually be found cheering him on from the stands.

The blonde-bombshell bagged a property in Lisbon last summer, hoping that her adopted son David can make it as a professional footballer.

The proud Mum took to social media by uploading a picture of her son, captioned: “My Champion!”.

Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, reportedly rang the world-famous superstar after hearing David was accepted to join Benfica’s academy and tried to get him to sign for his old club Sporting Lisbon instead. Benfica 1 vs Ronaldo 0 – CR7’s salesmanship obviously didn’t work as David signed with Benfica.

Who is the superstar Mum ?? Any guesses ??
