When you think of journeymen footballers, the names Nicolas Anelka and Andy Cole may spring to mind. But there is one man who eclipses them all by some distance.
Uruguayan striker Sebastian Abreu (‘El Loco’) has set the Guinness World Record playing for the most professional clubs, signing a deal with the 26th club of his career this week.
The 41-year-old, who made 70 appearances for his country over 16 years, is still going strong after leaving Puerto Montt and will now join Audax Italiano for 2018.
His career has spanned 23 years, taking him to 11 countries and over 30 transfers to various clubs.
Incredible achievement! Congrats goes out to ‘El Loco’!
