Messi’s dream was to finish his career at Barcelona and this week, that dream was accomplished when he signed a new deal that will take his stay at the club to 21 years, after joining the club as a 13 year old in 2000.
The 30-year-old has won eight La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, five Copa del Reys, seven Spanish Super Cups, three European Cups, and three Club World Cups.
He has won the Ballon d’or on five occasions and on Friday, was presented with his fourth Golden Shoe as Europe’s top scorer last season.
He has scored 523 goals in 602 games and is both Barcelona and La Liga’s all-time top scorer.
One thing is for certain…he will not be bought out of this contract as there is a new release clause which has been set at a stunning €700 million (£626 million).
PSG…good luck going after that release clause! You got Neymar that way and Barcelona has made sure that you will not get Messi.
Messi is signed, locked, and sealed!
